Cyber crimes will be reported

The Korean National Police Agency has 6 major functions (public security, national security, intelligence, foreign affairs, crime prevention and investigation). This functional structure is applied in national, provincial agencies as well as local police stations.
In Korean criminal procedures, criminal investigation is conducted by judicial police investigators under instruction of public prosecutors. Judicial police investigators are officers who handle criminal cases in the investigation divisions of each police bodies. Most of the Investigators are allocated in police stations, while national and provincial agencies’ work is focused on administrative management rather than case handling.
Cyber crime cases are dealt by Cyber Terror Response Center (CTRC) of the KNPA headquarters, Cyber Crime Investigation Team in each provincial police agencies’ headquarters and police stations.
Due to the scale-free nature of the Internet, For years, Korean people have witnessed the catalytic effect of the Internet and certain types of criminal activities; fraud, piracy, imprudent disclosure, stalking, defamation, identity theft and trade of illegal goods.
